Campaign 2012? Palin draws crowd in The Villages for ‘Going Rogue’ signing

by George Bennett | November 24th, 2009

In Florida, any Republican strategy for statewide victory includes The Villages, the massive retirement community and GOP stronghold near Ocala. So one couldn’t help but wonder about the 2012 presidential sweepstakes when Sarah Palin visited The Villages today.

As the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 2008, Sarah Palin drew tens of thousands at the retirement community. As the author and promoter of Going Rogue, Palin drew a smaller crowd today but one filled with enthusiasm.

The Associated Press puts the crowd at about 700.

The Orlando Sentinel says “hundreds” and includes some photos.

The St. Petersburg Times says the crowd was “perhaps as high as 1,000.”

The Ocala Star-Banner weighs in with a crowd estimate in the 1,500-to-2,000 range.

  1. Harold Says:

This is really not about politics or any political party. Sarah Palin’s book tour is about promoting freedom, American style. You may see the American media disrespect her but what you are really witnessing is fear. She’s a strong woman with principals and values, something they are not accustom to seeing. It will be the American people this time around who will make her president if she decides to accept that responsibility. It has been many years since the American people have had a true American president. We are way overdue.

  2. Faith Says:

    Best of luck to Palin.

We envisioned a better game plan than the false words of eloquence that Obama has been forcing down our throats. We want patriotism, someone who is going to listen to Americans and side with us, not with those who are targeting us. Stand by our military because they are becoming unfairly targeted when they sacrifice their lives for our independence, that we often times take for granted.

  3. Nick Says:

God help us all if that idiot woman gets elected to national office. She stands for everything I dislike.

  4. Freedom Raft Says:

Nick, If you are truly that nuts, I will personally pay for a raft at a store near you and tell where to pick it up. Then you need to take it to the extreme southern Florida shores closest to Cuba and push off. Apparently you would feel very comfortable living in a communist country. And, the likes of you the United States of American can do with quite well.

  5. Freedom Raft Says:

Correction - should have read “can do without quite well.”

  6. Oh Jesus! Says:

For more than two decades, Sarah Palin was a practicing Pentecostal. She belonged to the Wasilla Assembly of God church. Sarah Palin remains strongly affiliated with Pentecostal and Evangelical circles, including the Assembly of God. She openly believes in “faith healing” and the “end times” — a violent upheaval that she believes will deliver Jesus Christ’s second coming. Fit to be President?

  7. KBK Says:

The only thing Palin stands for is taking advantage of an opportunity and greed. She only says things that will make her money. Give her a year and all this will go to her head and she’ll leave her husband and kid for a younger man… most likely Levi. Hey Nick, it’s nice to see that someone else has a brain out there!

(I wish to share this amazing net article discussing Palin, & her church etc. Karl)

    PRETRIB RAPTURE RUSTLERS

To see the long hidden side of the 179-year-old, British-invented-and-American-merchandised, apocalyptic “rapture” mania, Google “Pretrib Rapture Diehards,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers)” (the sloppy copyist “genius” that Lindsey, LaHaye and other “rapture” tycoons lean on!), “LaHaye’s Temperament,” “America’s Pretrib Rapture Traffickers,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Thieves’ Marketing,” “Appendix F: Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “The Newest Pretrib Calendar,” “The Rapture Index (Mad Theology),” “Roots of (Warlike) Christian Zionism” and “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty,” for starters. The author of these items plus the bestselling nonfiction book “The Rapture Plot” (available online) is journalist/historian Dave MacPherson who has uniquely focused for 40 years on the bizarre history of this endtime craze which is anti-Jewish, anti-Catholic and anti- just about everyone else! MacPherson is the “Pretrib Rapture Answerman” who has researched throughout Britain and aired so much rapturesque “dirty linen” that he’s found behind the scenes (clever revisionism of early 19th century documents, rampant plagiarism, phony doctorates, Swaggart-type scandals etc.) that he is now No. 1 on the hate lists of the leading “rapture” money-changers! As everyone’s black, dust-covered book says, “There is nothing hidden that won’t be revealed….” (PS: Google “Pretrib Hypocrisy” for stun gun shocks about the Assemblies of God with whom there’s a Sarah Palin connection!)
