Palm Beach County GOP Senate straw poll: Rubio 90, Crist 17
by George Bennett | October 14th, 2009
- Crist: 17 votes
- Rubio: 90 votes
The vote of Palm Beach County Republican Executive Committee members was 90-17 for Rubio, who trails the more moderate Crist in fund-raising and polls of likely GOP primary voters but is a hero with the party’s conservative activist base.
Former New Hampshire Sen. Bob Smith, now a Florida resident and GOP candidate, got 11 votes in the poll. Physician and former congressional candidate Marion Thorpe got 4 votes.
The Palm Beach County result makes Rubio 9-0 in straw polls of county Republican Executive Committee members around Florida. Conservatives dominate the GOP committees across the state, just as liberals dominate Democratic executive committees.
The most recent public polls of likely GOP Senate primary voters were taken in mid-August. A Rasmussen poll showed Crist with a 53-31 lead and a Quinnipiac poll gave Crist a 55-26 advantage.

You mean to tell me the last minute endorsement of Charlie Crist by Carl Domino & Abrams couldn’t push him over the top ?

The Crist campaign hung Domino, Abrams, Snyder, Russo, etc. out to dry like a bad Quarterback would do to his receiver. Very funny though.

There is NO chance in HELL that anyone in my family would every vote for Charlie the Liar.
All he does is say one thing the you can bet the house it will never happen
Examples:
taxes will drop like a rock
insurance will drop like a rock
Well has it - the only thing that is dropping like a rock is his credibility.

I am a lifelong Democrate and proud of it. I will vote for Charlie Christ, the man has made a differance in my taxes and property ins.Charlie Christ is a honest and compassonate man, something that is greatly lacking in the republican party. In fact I am going to reregister so I can vote for him in the republican primary.

RUN MARCO RUN - WE NEED YOU NOW MORE THAN EVER
Crist is nothing more than a liberal socialist just like his buddies Obama and Pelosi. This empty suit with a tan needs to agree to a face to face debate with Marco. When is Crist going to order an investigation of ACORN here in Florida?

For Crist, Pinellas has become his firewall.

The man is willing to register as a Republican in order to beat them.
This is the kind of dedication to an agenda (24/7 activism that includes deception, ad hominem and persistence) Republicans must match to regain prominence over the socialist left. The fact that this man loves Crist should tell us a great deal.
