Endorsement pile-up: 15 Palm Beach County elected Dems back Deutch for Congress

by George Bennett | October 19th, 2009

Fifteen elected Democrats from Palm Beach County are slated to appear this morning with state Sen. Ted Deutch, D-Boca Raton, to show their support for his special-election bid for the congressional seat of think tank-bound U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler, D-Boca Raton.

The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. outside the Palm Beach County Governmental Center — a block or so away from the office of West Palm Beach Mayor Lois Frankel, who’s considering entering the congressional race herself.

In addition to Frankel, the other big question mark is Broward County Mayor Stacy Ritter.

Read the list of Deutch’s endorsers after the jump…..

According to Ted Deutch’s congressional campaign, these Palm Beach County Democratic elected officials are supporting his bid to replace Wexler:

County Commissioners Burt Aaronson, Jeff Koons, Shelly Vana, and Priscilla Taylor: state Sen. Dave Aronberg: state Reps. Kevin Rader, Kelly Skidmore, Mack Bernard, Joseph Abruzzo, Mary Brandenberg and Maria Sachs; Clerk ‘n’ Comptroller Sharon Bock; Tax Collector Anne Gannon; School Board Member Frank Barbieri; and Wellington City Commissioner Matt Wilhite.

I resent others trying to tell me who to vote for. What makes any of them think they know better. In fact I am inclined to vote for whomever the County Commissioners don’t like.

  2. smart voter Says:

These elected officials are not telling you who to vote for. Perhaps you may know one of them and will consider Ted as your congressman. You sound like a Nader, Ron Paul, Pat Buchanan or Kucinich voter any way. Good luck watching from the sidelines.

Of course, they all paid the max to Wexler last election. And, Aaronson is going to go to jail with the rest of the crooks. Mark my words,he is gone. Deiutch is continuing in the same corruption with the same filthy, corrupt politicans as Wexler.

Wexler quit and cause all of these problems becasue he is in trouble. What don’t you get about that? And the post did not print any of it and they still are in the bag for this corrupt Wexler stooge!

  5. Max Dugan Says:

Ted Deutch is competent. He’s the best choice for Congressman.

Ted Deutch will fight like a lion to protect and preserve our interests here in the 19th district.

I’m a Republican and I am crossing party lines because Ted Deutch is the best man for the job. Ted Deutch not a crazy leftist socialist like Pelosi or Frank. Ted Deutch is “grounded”. Ted Deutch is more like the late Senator Claude Pepper of our time.

Group therapy. Lois don’t let them squeeze you out.

  7. Pat Says:

Enough Already: You have no clue what you are talking about. Congressman Wexler is not in trouble. He could have stayed in office forever if he chose. I like how you can say those things and then use a phony name. Senator Deutch has an excellent voting record for the people! If you want to talk about special interests, take a look at your friends in Tallahassee. You won’t find Ted Deutch’s name.

This comment is for #5 Max Dugan above — level head or not, check the records.

Deutch was always eying statewide office and his votes reflected that. “Change” is not replacing one career politician with another, who doesn’t have anything but his own self-interest. There are better men running for this office — keep your options open for more than 20 minutes before you decide.
