"“I do firmly believe that in every public office there needs to be a resurgence of the basic principles on which this Republic was founded, and a return to our original standards of integrity and character,”

Then he's in the wrong party.

"Grayson then drew even more criticism after an “apology” on the floor likening the current health crisis to the Holocaust."

What a pathetic liar; he did not do any such thing. And it wasn't an "apology", it was a real apology to the 44,000 people who die each year for lack of health insurance, an apology on behalf of "representatives" who have failed the American people.

And Big Daddy, you're the one who is confused. "a holocaust" is only "equated" to "The Holocaust" by ignoramuses and liars.

Sorry, Bilbao but I have to agree with Dara and you. While the dictionary refuses to allude to the synonymous definition of "The Holocaust" to "a holocaust", in the current generation, "a holocaust" will always be equated with "The Holocaust". So while you are correct by the vernacular definition, Dara is correct in the association of the two.

And just so you aren't confused, I am a Jew, by birth and consecrated by history.

"Grayson then drew even more criticism ... likening the current health crisis to the Holocaust."

Sigh. Wrong again. He called the enormous number of Americans left for dead by the health crisis "a holocaust," which is defined by "a great or complete devastation or destruction of life," which it is.

Can anyone in the media imagine that a Jewish congressman might know the difference between a proper noun event ("The Holocaust") and a common concept defined by any dictionary?

Get smart, journalists. Grayson already is.
