Crist, Rubio share ties to Florida doctor arrested on federal corruption charges
by Michael C. Bender | September 30th, 2009
Alan Mendelsohn has contributed thousands of dollars to Republican Gov. Charlie Crist and appeared on his campaign literature in 2006, the Miami Herald reported. Crist appointed him to a health policy panel and wrote a recommendation for Mendelson’s son for the University of Florida medical school.
TalkingPointsMemo reminds readers that Crist’s U.S. Senate primary opponent, Marco Rubio, isn’t free and clear either. Mendelson hosted the “Marco Rubio U.S. Senate Kickoff” earlier this year. And we’ll add that Mendelsohn was responsible for nearly half of the money raised by a legislative committee Rubio controlled in 2003.
Mendelsohn, a Hollywood ophthalmologist, is accused of raising about $2 million for a series of political entities and tehn spending about $350,000 on personal items like a home, a car, credit card bill and college tuition. Mendelsohn says he’s not guilty.

Oh boy…Talking Points Memo reports that this whole affair is going to be much more sordid than this early account suggests. Bribery schemes, payments towards upkeep of his mistress…

With corruption so out of control in the state of Florida, how can this possibly be a surprise to anyone. The surprise is they were found out and that it was revealed. Money bought Mendelsohn an appointment to a health policy panel and a personal recommendation for his son to medical school.Governor’s are suppose to be beyond reproach, this is outrageous…but not a surprise.

So these guys are guilty of wrongdoing just like Obama when he bought property from Rizo the felon. Silly. Also, the corruption in FL is peanuts as compared to DC.

Corruption is corruption wherever it is. Katie Johnston, you sound as though you condone such behavior. Maybe thats why its allowed to continue with no repurcussions because of people like you. Shame on you ma’m.
