Taylor, Greene endorse Bernard for Florida House
by Michael C. Bender | August 3rd, 2009Bernard is hoping to outlast Riviera Beach Councilman Cedrick Thomas in the Aug. 25 election to replace Taylor, D-West Palm Beach, in the state House. Taylor was recently appointed to replace Greene on the Palm Beach County Commission.
From Bernard:
“I am honored to have the trust and support of two distinguished veteran lawmakers, both of whom previously represented District 84 in the Florida Legislature. Former State Representative Priscilla Taylor was known as someone who fought hard for the residents of the district. I realize I have some very big shoes to fill.”

I am still trying to figure out how we in this district can support someone who does not live here walk up and take votes. He does not live here. He lives in Delray and does not understand what the issues here are.
Are we going to let people like Addie and Taylor pick who they want to represent us or are we going to choose someone who has worked for us before and can continue to work for us.
We need to wake up people. The people who don’t look like us and the people who are being bought by them need to be stopped and August 25 is when we can do it. Let us put a stop to Addie Green and send her to the retirement that she so needs.

No surprise here. Addie I am sure rung Ms. Taylor’s hand to endorse. Boy she is still running things. I thought she was sick????
Poor old Addie being the rain maker… When did she retire again? Where are the FEDS when we need them.
People of 84 wake up… Vote the right choice on August 25. Thomas!!!

Mack Bernard, when are you coming to West Palm Beach? If you want my vote I have to know who you are. Thank you.

Well Well.. Blow me over. I found out today that this young man lives in Delray Beach. I know that Hank Harper is out of the race but weren’t there any young people or people in general who live in 84 that could have ran for this race.
I don’t know Mr. Bernard and I am sure he is okay. But what is hie motivation to run for an office 20 miles away from his home? I am going to take the time to see who is behind the making of this effort. This again makes no sense to me.
Will the editor of this blog investigate and find out why and if this legal.
Good luck to the candidates but there are more questions then answers on this one.

Mack Bernard is the best choice for State Representative.
He is a 23-year resident of Palm Beach County, Vice-Mayor of Delray Beach, a small business owner, who had a retail store in West Palm Beach for several years, and the Second Vice-President of the Palm Beach County Caucus of Black Elected Officials, to name a few qualifications.
He has been actively involved in District 84 for years.
If your argument is he is not qualified to represent District 84 because he currently lives in Delray Beach, then Cedrick Thomas must not be qualified to represent West Palm Beach, Mangonia Park, Lake Park, Royal Palm Beach, Haverhill, the Acreage, Pahokee, Belle Glade and South Bay, all in District 84, because he lives in Riviera Beach.

Well, Informed Voter, at least Councilman Thomas lives in ONE of the cities included in the district. Mack Bernard has been on a mad dash over the last several months to get to know all of the players here on the north end of the county to make this push for this seat and he ran into one who has shamelessly sold this county out since she was first elected, Queen Addie Greene.
I also find it interesting that Ms. Taylor, who has stated on several occasions that she was going to stay neutral, comes out with this endorsement a few weeks before the election. I guess Ms. Greene has given Priscilla her marching orders and she is falling right in line.
We need to put a halt to the monopoly that Addie Greene thinks she has over this area. I find it hard to believe that someone who was so sick that she needed to step down, has found this new burst of energy to try and control every seat in this district.
This is out of control and Ms. Greene, the voters will show you that your reign has come to an abrupt end!
Cedrick Thomas for State Representative!! Vote August 25th

First of all, neither Addie Greene nor Priscilla Taylor brought anything back to their district while collecting a paycheck in Tallahassee. Now they’re trying to force us to digest Mack Bernard – a carpet bagger from Delray. HELL NO! We got a homegrown in Riviera who: 1) knows the issues; 2) was born and breed in the district; 4) has worked in Belle Glade and South Bay and 4) is an ELECTED official – unlike Mack Bernard who was annointed – I mean appointed to the seat. Addie and Priscilla need to take a look at the district they took an oath to represent and ask themselves why its worse than when they was first elected. Priscilla is Priscilla. Did nothing at the Port…did nothing in Tally and will do nothing on the Commission…Someone intelligent needs to go after the County seat.

Yes Mack does not live in District 84 at the moment. But that does not negate the fact that he has been active in the community and advocating on behalf of the people of this district even before the campaign. People keep shouting that he is not a resident of the district, but let’s not be fooled now – residency is not equivalent to knowledge. Just because his opponent resides in the district does not make him more knowledgeable. The many people including many of the elected officials representing parts of District 84 are endorsing Mack because they know what he will bring to the community. I hope that voters will not be blinded by small things like the candidate’s address at the time of his application or an endorsement by someone they don’t agree with, and focus on the fact that there is a candidate who stands out as more likely to do the job. On August 25th, Mack Bernard is my choice.

I cant stomach another year of some citizens of Riviera Beach. I dont believe the lady that lives on the corner of MLK blvd. in a green and white house. This lady is a hypocrite if I have ever saw one. She have the nerve to not like Mr. Thomas, because she could not sell her house to DOT, and want to blame Mr. Thomas for her misfortune. She hates her neighbors but she want the citizens to follow her lead when she cant get along with anyone on her street. Mrs. please do every one that lives in The Haarmony Heights community a favor, hide your face and when you attend church every Sunday ask God to please forgive your evil and mean ways. YOU NEED JESUS, and fast.

Yes, Mack Bernard won this round, everyone who attented the forums of Mr. Thomas and Mr. Bernard knew good and well that Mr. Bernard stumble over every word that he spoke. He did not answer any questions that was presented to him, but looked to Addie Green to give him some kind of clue. She did not do anything for the citizens of Riviera Beach when she was in 84, and she have help put someone else in office who will not do anything for Riviera Beach either. This guy will have to jump when she say jump, she will have control over this man, and if he do not follow her orders she will kick him to the curb and find another flunky she can manipulate to do her dirty deeds.
