Will Frankel attempt to loosen term limits?
by Michael C. Bender | July 22nd, 2009Lois Frankel is prevented from seeking a third term as West Palm Beach Mayor, but some have speculated she’ll attempt to undo that law with a charter amendment.
But in a signal that Frankel might not be interested in another term, her ally and WPB Commissioner Jerri Muoio announced Tuesday that she would seek the mayor’s office in 2010.

The Mayoral race could be very interesting. The word inside City Hall is that Al Zucaro is planning another run at Mayor. That’s what has caused the rift between Zucaro and Anita and Kimberly Mitchell. They’re ticked that Zucaro has been riding their political coat-tails for years, but now that he’s married Yvonne Boice, he has not only abandoned them but turned on them (Kimberly is also planning to run for Mayor).
Don’t underestimate Zucaro. He’s a campaign engine. He’s got a lot of horsepower and he’s now moved from the low-octane political fuel of the Mitchells to the high-octane of Yvonne Boice.

We need Zucaro. We are tired of the bickering of Mitchell, Frankel and all their allies. Zucaro will sweep out small town politics from city hall bring a global perspective and professionalism to the city.
Go Al!

Interesting, but Al doesn’t live in West Palm Beach. He has a house in Jupiter and his wife has a house in Boca. Is he planning on carpet-bagging in a rented downtown condo again to establish his so-called residence in the city again? Maybe we should elect someone who already lives in the city…

Zucaro was fighting for us out west before anyone else..he will bring intelligence and professional demeaner and world trade to us.

I think it is Kimberly and Anita Mitchell who have been riding Zucaro’s coat-tails. He was a commissioner and helped Kimberly get elected and he has helped Anita Mitchell in her lobbying business. Zucaro would bring more stability to the city than Mitchell but she’s a good girl and would also be good. Muoio would also be good but Douglas is worthless. She has said in public that develper well being is more important than a neighborhood - just read the stories about the Modern. Unbelievable.

I hope it’s true that there’s been a break between Kimberly and Zucaro. I’ve supported her but always had reservations about giving her “100%” because of her and her mother’s close relationship with Zucaro. Several of my neighbors feel the same way.
I’ve heard first-person stories about him that that made my skin crawl. He’s crooked and he’s a phony. If he’s running for Mayor it’s to advance his World Trade Center fraud.

How many elections does Al have to lose before he realizes that we don’t want or need him here in West Palm. Look Al you opposed building our new Library and we all love it, You have opposed everything good for our City. Is there anything you can say you did while you were on the City Commission? Come on think about it there must be something you accomplished over the years you were on the Commission. Something you personally spearheaded. And opposing what Mayor Graham accomplished does not qualify.
Can’t think of anything, can you…
Al: Do the right thing for yourself — Stay in Boca and enjoy your wife’s money.

You’re being too hard on him Southender. His tenure as a city commissioner allowed him to accomplish a lot. It gave him a path to eventually marry an ATM. It gave him connections to get his World Trade Center funded by the county. He made money by….
Oh, you mean what he’s accomplished for the public? That is a little difficult. Al, let’s hear from you!
