At least Republican Mark Foley was man enought to resign after his sex-scandal. It’s too bad his Republican counterparts refuse to do so.

I think it’s pretty clear that the “double standard” rests with the Republican party.

I’m reminded of Republican Henry Hyde who referred to his own extramarital affairs at age 41 as “youthful indiscressions”

Meanwhile, The “family values” preachers like James Dobson and the Family Research Council continue to wink an eye and look the other way whenever one of their own is caught with his pants down.

Democrats never put themselves forward as a family values deal, and not all Republicans do. Those that paint themselves as conservative Republicans live and die on this line. In this case, Sanford talked a good conservative line but was living a different life. He deserves what he gets.
