Jeb changes tune on Obama, says W. was more popular
by Michael C. Bender | July 8th, 2009
Former Gov. Jeb Bush told the L.A. Times in January that he was impressed with President Obama and called the Democrat “smart, disciplined, not rash.”
But in an interview with Esquire magazine published today, Bush accuses Obama of having a “secret plan” he kept from voters in the campaign:
“He would not have gotten elected if he’d said, “My idea is to create a $1.8 trillion deficit for the next fiscal year. My idea is to spend $750 billion [the president's budget estimate puts this figure at $630 billion] over the next ten years on a government-sponsored, government-subsidized health-care policy. My idea is to create a massive cap-and-trade system [based on the idea] that CO2 is [a] pollutant and we need to tax it in a massive way to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions.” … Had he said what he was going to do as a candidate, [Obama] would have lost.”
Bush goes on to compare approval ratings of his brother, former President George W. Bush, and Obama.
ESQUIRE: Why is he (Obama)so popular now?
BUSH: [A flash of agitation.] First of all, who cares? His popularity is no greater — in fact it’s less — than what my brother’s was during the beginning of his tenure, in a time of unbelievable friction, if you think about it, because of the 2000 election. His approval ratings were higher than Barack Obama’s during his first one hundred days. [Actually, according to Gallup, during the first hundred days of his presidency, Bush had approval ratings that were generally in the high 50s to low 60s, while Obama's were in the low to mid-60s.]
My guess is that there will be a push back.
…
We haven’t upgraded our message. We haven’t updated it. If you close your eyes and listen to most Republicans, most conservatives, the same speech could have been given in 1990. And you can’t discount that. It’s a pretty important point. If people think our message is outdated, our message is not relevant to the world we live in, and I think a growing number of people may feel that, you lose your relevance.

Hey Jeb,
Obama should have told America he had a secret plan to invade the wrong country, bog us down there for at least six more years, kill 4,500 American troops in the process, cost us trillions in a war his people would at first claim would “pay for itself,” institute an illegal system of nationwide domestic surveillance, and lead an American surge into ghoulish medievalism with a program of torture that ultimately would be used to try to extract “confessions” to that would justify it all, falsely, after the fact.
July 8th, 2009 at 7:06 pm
Jeb is just jealous his brother didn’t think of Obama’s ideas first
July 8th, 2009 at 8:03 pm
Hey Jebster,We understand how you have to toe the family line and defend W,but as your doing that just remember as your all sitting around the Thanksgiving table because of his incompetent, corrupt ways you will NEVER be president as your daddy wanted.
July 8th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
Ditto Jeb,
You and your brother both did nothing for the US or Florida. GOV. CRIST pushed lowing the Property Taxes and ending rate hikes by Insurance Companies to get elected. Look at Florida now. All the counties and state is taxing everything they can to come up with extra money to spend recklessly as in the past. Crist might as well resign but I don’t think he will get elected to the Senate either.
Obama inherited this mess from 8 years of reckless spending on the war and the states had to raise taxes to get by because the federal dollars were being spent in wars all over the world, nothing spent at home.
July 8th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
Jeb who??
Great Post “So”…
July 8th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Jeb is exactly right. As soon as unemployment hits 10% nationwide–which it will–and people realize that the “stimulus” has not created any meaningful job opportunities, President Obama will have to show more substance than an ability to give good speeches from a teleprompter. What’s really surprising is that he has some smart economic people around him, but they continue to grow the size of government without apparent care for the consequences.

10%, we are at 10%!! All you Morons who rode the “change train” will be regretting things in about 18 months. When this big wasted stimulus money bill comes in and has to be paid by raising taxes and interest rates you will all be crying “change”!!! Im puzzzled???: Banks get free money, call bank to lower mortgage rate, call bank to negotiate, banks who got free money say NO, foreclose, ruin your credit and will come after your assets?? .Fact: You cannot borrow this much monopoly money and dont think it wont have to paid back somehow..Obama is already beefing up the IRS to make us all pay..pretty funny, since this is his first actual real job he is ever had in his whole life!!!At least Jeb had a job and didn’t make monopoly money (3,000,000,000,000.00) of it –that is a lot of zeros (12 of them) people!! or let us all drowned in a Hurricane or quit being governor like Palin..They all stink, wake up people!!!! stop taking sides and keep this the best Free country, not a socialist country where we cant make our own decisions. Have you ever seen a leader fire a CEO of an auto maker and AIG then give them taxpayer million plus bonuses on the way out???? Did Jeb ever do that? or let alone anyone president or leader?? NO!!!! Non one has ever done that..Bailout money for Billionaires? How about all those auto dealers who charges dealer prep fees and jack up the price by two thousand, thats ok give then bail -out money….Change!!!
July 8th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Hey So Says, I don’t believe there were plans for Iraq when W was elected. EVERYTHING changed on 9-11. Have you, or if you have children, not been attacked in 8 years or is that just because the rest of the world felt sorry or good toward us. Who was president before W and what did Billy Boy do to stop terrorism. Eh, does the attack on the World Trade Center during his watch mean nothing! Sorry, he was having a grand time partying and if a few americans die to extremist while I am having a grand time in the White House party central, they will get over it. All W did was to protect AMERICANS and the children if you don’t like the way he did it so be it, but we have been safe! Be thankful
July 8th, 2009 at 11:06 pm
every body better write thier congressman, obamas next move is to allow social security to illegal aliens, unless congress vetos it.we cannot allow this to happen, you have paid all your life into this,no person who is not a citizen of this country should benefit from our social security.
July 9th, 2009 at 12:50 am
The sad thing is that the vast majority of Obama’s votes came from people that have NO clue as to the debt he is putting this country into.
I can’t get over the denial of the Obama fans. How could anyone be satisfied with him putting generations into debt? History has shown us Obama’s method doesn’t work. Your tax money has paid for bad CC debt, poor business operations (auto) and soon to be health care…..one more step closer to socialization.
July 9th, 2009 at 1:37 am
The media sold me on Obama.. I wish i could take back my vote.. This man destroying our country, while the media is still sucking up to his bs…
July 9th, 2009 at 2:35 am
So,
The total cost of the Iraq war is $685 Billion - from March 2003 to now, 6+ years. Obama has added roughly double that, according to the CBO, in less than 6 months.
There was wild uproar over one small, misunderstood provision of the Patriot Act. It was that any person on a terrorist watch list (which you have to show very strong anti-American sentiment to get on to) calling or being called internationally would be surveyed if certain words were picked up. So unless you post on Al Qaeda message boards about your next plot to kill Americans, you’re safe. Your life is far too uninteresting for our country to spy on you.
Waterboarding was done to 3 people, who were the key figures in large attacks on our country. It yielded good information, and we now have it defined as illegal, but once again it begs the question: When someone’s orders have killed 3000+ American citizens and you have him there and you need information that could stop the death of innocent civilians, are you just going to feed him a lollipop and ask him politely?
And enough with the conspiracy theories - Bush had no initial plan to invade Iraq, though a more aggressive stance against the Hussein administration was certainly part of his foreign policy goals. He certainly didn’t “kill” American troops. They enlisted to serve our country, and death was certainly something they needed to prepare for when they signed that dotted line.
I’m not a fan of W, personally, as I’m a small-government conservative, but the misinformation about his foreign policy is so absurd. The Patriot act, I would also add, was passed by 98 of the 99 Senators voting. And 70% of House Democrats voted Yes on it. So quit the straw man argument that Bush is listening in on your plans to hit the bowling alley Saturday. It’s simply not ture.
July 9th, 2009 at 3:01 am
Jeb who?
July 9th, 2009 at 4:02 am
LOL, W was an idiot that couldn’t even spell stimulus. He ran this country into the ground so he and his pals could get rich(er)!Maybe Obama isn’t the answer. We need to elect someone who will run this country like a buisness and live within our means. If the Republicans and Democrats would quit trying to low rate and backstab each other maybe we could fix America and make it the proud country it once was!
July 9th, 2009 at 4:19 am
WHAT IS JEB SMOKING?????
July 9th, 2009 at 4:21 am
Oh and get a Grip people…How much do you think this war has put us into debt???
Get your facts right!
July 9th, 2009 at 5:59 am
Obama will be making many cry by this time next year.
July 9th, 2009 at 6:55 am
Well I suspect if the American people had a choice they’d trade that 630 billion deficit for the 4,500 precious lives George so wastefully spent defending “freedom”. I ditto So’s comments. Jeb is as foolish as his name.
July 9th, 2009 at 7:31 am
Harness the Bush family’s hot air production and we could solve the energy crises today. Add Rushbo’s flow and we could save the world.
The bottom line is that Obama did say what he was going to do, some people CHOSE not to listen. He just didn’t get into specific dollar amounts and processes until he was in office because there was no way to know the extent of the mess left behind by his predecessor, King George II, the United States’ first appointed president.
July 9th, 2009 at 7:49 am
Jeb did allow bail out money to go out from the state of Florida , dont you remember as Enron went down the tubes the states FRS was buing stock even after it was labeled a no buy,and any body who thinks that Obama can get out of this mess this country is in over night needs to go live up in Disney there is just no way, it will take a lot longer than the 6 months that he’s been in office, we gave W 8 years to screw it up I think we should afford Obama the time to clean it up.
July 9th, 2009 at 7:54 am
Obama is a socialist and his so called pork filled stimulus is killing us. Where are all the jobs? He said his spending would cap unemployment at 8% and now it is 9.5% and going much higher to 10% and more so he wants to spend and borrow more money. Borrow, print and spend money we don’t have. WOW THAT’S SMART Mr. Teleprompter Man.
July 9th, 2009 at 8:01 am
I just love how the republicans want to blame Obama of the mess GW left behind. Obama clearly stated that CHANGE WOULD NOT HAPPEN IMMEDIATELY. Hello!!!! Obama has 8 years to clean up. When GW took over the presidency, Clinton did not leave a huge deficit, unemployment, etc. to clean up. Thanks to the republicans this country is close to another great depression. So, before they start bad mouthing Obama, they need to look at the mess that was left behind .
July 9th, 2009 at 8:07 am
What is there to say…we keep getting
one disaster after another. W was an
absolute imbecile and he is followed by
a radical socialist. When are we ever
going to get someone descent? That is
why I am now a happy Independent. This
Country is going down hill fast and I
am waiting for the crash. Obama has no
right to blame the Bush administration
now-he is driving the car. Heaven help
us all. As far as Jeb is concerned-he
should give it a rest…we had enough
Bushes to last a lifetime. He did wonders for Florida. We don’t need him
as President. Three strikes your out.
July 9th, 2009 at 8:13 am
More popular until he “showed” how inept he truly was…..He lacked that “closeness” with the public. Came across as stiff and uneducated. Not a good role model for future voters..Only hard core really supported him after first term. Detached from plight of Katrina victims. Couldn’t even get out of his plane and on the ground to at least SHOW he was concerned………How does that translate into being”well liked”. Jeb is his brother for goodness sake. What do you expect him to say……
The Reublican party needs a fresh face….Smart, articulate, conservative with a smile and very, very smart with really good people skills. At home in a crowd, and in a business suit with a handkerchief in his jacket pocket..You think I’m kidding. Go find that person and I give you the next President of the United States.
We are still a conservative country. Just not the kind of conservatives we see on TV.
July 9th, 2009 at 8:13 am
Pelosi is running this country and look at California. Put the money in the hands of the people or the hands of the small business’ in this country or we are all screwed. How many time do we have to here “now let’s be clear” Let’s be clear….Obama you SUCK!
July 9th, 2009 at 8:24 am
Hey Harry Houdini, Do you have any idea what’s involved in putting Air Force One one the ground any where in the “free” world? For you to bring up the Katrina effect is a joke. Did you you see Bush in the Oval Office after 9/11? To think that George didn’t give a crap about the people on the ground is a weak fight against the GOP. This country is going out of business just like california. Tax and spend. Now that’s funny. Hey Obama..I know you don’t want to here this, but free up the small business’ in this county or we are all finished. Bye, bye, tax roll and start printing lots of cash.
July 9th, 2009 at 8:29 am
Oh yes–right: JEB says, after Obama was in office “about one month”—that he’s “doing GREAT” —now about 5 months later—– says “Obama STINKS”..???? Pretty RATIONAL & CONSISTENT this Jeb Bush is, right ??
Kind of reminds me of some wack-nut job who was Governor in Alaska who QUIT when things got TOUGH (the SAME REPUBLICAN Governor who a few years prio–wanted Alaska to SECEDE FROM THE UNITED STATES…!!!!!
What is with these nut-job REPUBLICAN ELITISTS who really don’t give a shit for the common citizen. They are only looking out for their own wallets and their CRONIES—the Oil & Defense Corporations.GET REAL America! The REPUBLICAN PARTY simply want to screw you! Why do you bend over and let them do it with no vaseline over & over & over —then THANK THEM for it and ASK FOR MORE ….????????
July 9th, 2009 at 8:38 am
Where are the jobs Mr. Obama? Now you want to print, borrow and spend more money we don’t have. It’s all about JOBS JOBS AND MORE JOBS. This printing, borrowing and spending and this Capand Trade (Tax) will kill us all for sure. Do you know what you are doing Mr. Teleprompter?
July 9th, 2009 at 8:40 am
I love how the Bush naysayers ALWAYS omit the fact that their beloved lying left was on board with invading Iraq, they saw the same intel and did not offer one peep of resistance or question it. These same liars also would have you believe Bush was really King of the USA and did not have a DEM majority in congress and did not have to deal with them in any manner. The head clown then gets up and tells the disciples he ” inherited 1.3 trillion deficit” from Bush. You people are either very stupid, uniformed, gullible or so hate filled things like truth and reality have no place in your twisted little world. You decide which one applies.
July 9th, 2009 at 8:56 am
Alice #30 - I love you!
July 9th, 2009 at 9:13 am
How do explain this Mr. Obama? From USA Today article on stimulus payments. “The reports show the 872 counties that supported Obama received about $69 per person, on average. The 2,234 that supported McCain received about $34.”
July 9th, 2009 at 9:16 am
8 years of G.W Bush sending our country down the toilet and now people are upset because Obama has not fixed it in the first 100 days?
July 9th, 2009 at 9:21 am
I am confused? Socialism is okay for some but not for others. We subsidize BIG Sugar, BIG Oil, and any other industry we think of. Politicians receive retirement plans paid for by tax dollars. They also have the best medical care paid for by tax dollars; homes paid for by tax dollars; transportation that is also paid for by tax dollars. Ah, the joy of Socialisam. Yet when Obama talks about giving to the American people what he and the political world currently enjoy-mindless idiots scream SOCIALISM. People wake up!! If socialism was truly such a bad thing why are the politiicans feeding at that table? Don’t you idiots realize that when they have to via for healthcare, retirement, and housing like we do, then and only then will Americas problems be solved and Socialism no longer a fear. However, as long as we give them what we deny ourselves they will never see the need to fix the problem. Move pass the word “socialism” and demand from the powers that be that we collectively give as good as the citizens give to them!
Socialism, smocialism, what does it matter as long as we collectively live a better life!!!!
July 9th, 2009 at 9:22 am
You cannot argue with the right-wing fascist republicans with “FACTS”
. Facts are very “inconvenient” to these right-wing nazi racists!
We, the liberals are just supposed to shut up and take it in the rear and be HAPPY, right??? Because what do we know anyway —we are poor (because they keep all the money in their right-wing fascist ELITE few hundred controlling FAMILIES—and send all their chikdren to the Ivy League colleges we can’t afford—which is where they all can go on to inherit the political positions so they can continue this ELITIST CORPORATE-OLIGARCHY. Things never seem to change in this fascist fake-capitalist society.
And they are so run on FEAR that all they can do is yell back at us about how “hate-filled” WE ARE ….???????????
(and how we obfuscate the “facts” ….uh huh!!!! sure.)……
July 9th, 2009 at 9:23 am
If America wanted “change” we should have elected an Independent as president, not a Democrat or a Republican. Wow that would have been a change, but instead the American voter once again fell for the smoke -n- mirror lies. We need to start electing registered independents to the lowest levels of government and work our way up to the presidency. Then maybe we can get a president that will make decisions based on the desires of the American voter, not the agenda of their political party. The vehicle that got us where we are has been driven by Democrat and Republican alike, for a long time, and now here we are. So our punishment for being lemmings is ,over the cliff we go. So long America.
July 9th, 2009 at 9:29 am
Jebbie go home.
July 9th, 2009 at 9:37 am
Jeb is jealous no question about, can compare any of the bushes to this icon.
July 9th, 2009 at 9:43 am
JEB….Don’t go away angry….just GO AWAY..
I am racking my brain to remember anything Jeb did in 8 yrs as gov.
Repeal helmet law..He had a pass since his bro was pres. Jeb enjoyed the PARTY of (temporally)rising home values..
.
Am I the only one that remembers Sunrise Savings and Loan???
http://rationalrevolution.net/war/bush_family_and_the_s.htm
Why does anyone even ask him his opinion on ANYTHING?
I also remember the days b-4 “W” was “S”elected..good economy,lower deficit,
and tracking a thing called Al-Qaeda..
And on the way out of office telling Condi,,”Biggest threat to the USA is Osama Bin Laden.”
WHO can expect someone to clean up * YEARS disaster in 6 month’s????
Ever since Prescott Bush,

the family has stolen from the USA.
Good Riddance

IT”S OFFICIAL!
IT”S NOW BEEN CONFIRMED!
“JEB BUSH” IS AS BIG AN IDIOT AS HIS BROTHER, “W”.
July 9th, 2009 at 11:14 am
That’s right–this Jeb guy is a “wiener” & a WHINER! In fact I think he was the pimp that might have gotten the little boys for Michael Jackson and made them drink the Jesus Juice before they were raped & sodomized…. kind of exactly like we, the American Citizens and Taxpayers have been raped & sodomized over & over again by these rich corporate Elite Families , eh …????
What I fail to undertand is why does the voting American Public keep falling for their same lies and bulshit over & over & over again ??????????
To put this in a cleared “perspective” —- when GW Bush was running against Kerry for President almost 9 years ago—even though we thought if Kerry wa elected, things would be very “different” than if GW was elected —— few Americans realize that Kerry & Bush (as well as Bush’s father-the former President) were aLL mebers of the Secret society SKULL & BONES for RICH ELITE FAMILIES (Remember–Kerry’s wife is the heiress to the Hienz Ketchup Fortune—duhhhhhhhhh!!!) ……….
These members of Skull & Bones Secret Fraternity at YALE (one of the Ivy League schools that cater and cowtow to the rich elite families running this nation!) all take an OATH upon pain of torture, deathe and DISMEMBERMENT, to uphold and protect and HELP all other members of SKULL & BONES SOCIETY ……..so no matter WHICH Skull & Bones member (Kerry or Bush) was elected President—-we, the American sheep public, would still have gotten the exact same RESULT! It’s really that simple.Whether you believe it or not doesn’t change that it IS the WAT it WORKS.
Now go back to sleep and send 1/3 of everything you earn to this wonderful “govenment” that has your “best interests at heat” …….(not to mention that as far as the other remaining 2/3 of your earnings—every single time you buy or sopend ANY of it—you are taxed again and again and again!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes you kind of wonder, huh ????
And the Right-wing Fascist Republican ELITES have the ARROGANCE to be throwing what they call these “TEA PARTIES” reminding us that the American Revolution against the British was because we felt we were being double taxed …????????????????? HUH ??????
July 9th, 2009 at 11:14 am
Lets face reality when a politician’s mouth is open don’t believe a word you hear, especially when they say this is for your own good.
They promise you the world leaving out the fact that you will have to pay and pay for those promises and now your grand kids and their kids will have to pay also. Until we have performance contracts that make a politician do as they promise this abuse of power will continue,”how many even know whats in a bill they voted on” or for that matter how many even care, if a regular citizen doesn’t perform their duties at work most of the time they get fired yet politicians have and still are running this country into the ground for their own self gratifcation and we can’t fire them till re election comes up.. what a deal, oh I forgot guess who gets to pay for their nice retirement package
July 9th, 2009 at 11:24 am
Jeb is no longer his own man. His mission now is to try and protech his families legacy even if he has to say things that he does not aggree with. I cannot understand why all these so called conservatives are worried about Obama’s spending on domestic issues which will come back to us eventually in some form but never worried about Bush’s policy of sending billions of dollars in cash over to Iraq to be lost without a trace. Much of which went to Halliburton who now has it’s corperate headquarters in Dubai so they could dodge paying taxes on the money they received from American tax payers. Are you really that afraid of the wellfare mom that’s lazy and doesent want to get a job? I would much rather see my tax dollars go to a lazy person to buy food or get a tetnus shot than to see it go to a company based in Dubai who has a track record of providing sub standard quality services to our troops. In wars past it was our own millitary who supplied themselves with the services they needed not overpriced private contractors. Shame on you Bushes all of you.
July 9th, 2009 at 11:32 am
This 2 party system we have or if you count independants = 3 is killing our country, whichever party thats in charge justs blames the previous party for everything and so on and on.. our elected officials spend more time bickering like 5 year olds than actual 5 year olds.. “Quote “remember I inherited this mess
July 9th, 2009 at 11:34 am
Hey Jeb,
Why don’t you go back to smuggling jewlery with your wife. Also, where is our hi-speed train? Oh that’s right - a hi-speed efficient train that the voters wanted was not good for big oil.
You are a dick.
July 9th, 2009 at 11:34 am
We gave GEORGE W BUSH 8 years to screw it up I think we should afford OBAMA the time to clean it up.
July 9th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
George Bush did a great job and he didn’t mess it up but Barney Frank and Nancy Pelosi sure did. Barney and his friend at Fanny and Freddy along with Nancy Pelosi made them make those loans to people who didn’t even qualify. Things went down hill when the democrats took control of congress and refused several times to investigate these bad loans. Every time republicans brought up the subject Barney Frank and the democrats in democrat controlled congress said don’t worry, be happy, everything is ok. Just ask yourself one big question. ARE YOU BETTER OFF NOW THAN YOU WERE 7 MONTHS AGO? When you answer please remember Obama is president now and has been for seven months so don’t pass the buck and blame anyone else.
July 9th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
AND THIS IS A WHITE HOUSE GANG THAT CALLED BUSH STUPID?
July 8, 2009
White House spells Obama’s name wrong
@ 2:45 pm by Eric Zimmermann
Someone might want to look into whether an impostor took President Obama’s place during his trip to Russia.
In a release touting an agreement between Obama and President Dmitry Medvedev over how to craft a follow-up to the START arms reduction treaty, the White House claimed the document had been signed by one “Barak Obama.”
Whoops
July 9th, 2009 at 3:32 pm
JEB ????? Oh yeah, that idiot that ran Florida into the ground, the brother of the EX-President who ran the country into the ground————–see a pattern here people ????
JEB is just being Jeb—-Speakin with forked tongue
Some of you bleeding heart’s think Obama isn’t the answer & maybe he isn’t or maybe he is, whichever, anything
( Except McCain/Palin )would be an improvement & it is an improvement, it just takes time to implement & take effect, you know the old saying ” S–T rolls downhill ” well other things do too.
GIVE OBAMA A FIGHTING CHANCE
July 9th, 2009 at 5:10 pm
This country that I love has been going down the tube for that last 8 years. We keep trying to point the finger at each other. When the real problem is that we are at fault for causing this mess and that we all need to fix. There won’t be any more stepping on the poor to get ahead in life cause as we all know the middle class is shrinking while the Rich get richer and the poor man grows more each day. I do believe there is need of change in this Country but WE all need to change and WE all need to come together and work for a solution. When will it be enough?
July 9th, 2009 at 5:52 pm
alice…are you reading from limbaugh’s transcripts? you are practically quoting the old gasbag. people listen to that trip on the radio (left and right), believe all of it, too lazy to do their own research and depend on the word of their radio heroes…..that’s the problem. not bush or obama, lazy americans that won’t even learn what is really going on…….then blame the president….this is a government of the people….that means everyone…everybody bitches…but few participate…
July 9th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
Alice you wrote
“George Bush did a great job and he didn’t mess it up”
what about
1) War in Iraq under false pretenses?
2) Hurricane Katrina - you been to New Orleans?
3) Stock Market crash in August 08
and on, and on..
July 15th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Obama fans are on some kind of “hate Bush” kool-aid. OK I get it you did not like their policies, and I did not like some of them either. Get over it the Bushes are not around anymore. That being said the new crew is 10x worse. I may be a little premature but I want to propose Obama is on course to be the worst President of all-time to replace last years nominee.
July 15th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Some of the Hate Bush Kool-Aid
1) War in Iraq under false pretenses?
-> After 9/11 there was a lot of intelligence about WMDs and terrorists that later turned out to be wrong
2) Hurricane Katrina - you been to New Orleans?
-> Bush controls the weather?? No blame for Nagin or the Dem Gov? Jeb Bush did a much better job of storm response in FL
3) Stock Market crash in August 08
-> Lots of blame to go around here. Current economic policy and future deficits will hurt the stock market much worse!

Jeb is jaded, you can read that between the lines. As for the reign of W the not-so-great for 8 years…it just proves that half of us are idiots. I’ll leave it up to you to figure out if that means you. Palin 2012 means Obama for another 4!

Who is dumb and who is dumber? W. or Jeb??

Alice I am with you #48 I am not better off than I was 8 months ago. The only change I see is less change in my pocket. Everyone likes to blame Bush but we sure did have some good years low unemployment, etc. Just remember who controlled congress the last two years. 911 was not his fault. If you think we are in trouble with Bush we are heading for triple trouble with Obama. He will sink us all! There won’t be any upper class left to pay for the ones that don’t pay. As for his healthcare reform just prepare yourselves. Leave Jeb alone…..

#53 You blame the stock market crash on Bush? The reason it crashed was because polls were showing that Obama was leading in the polls to be the next President of the U.S. and the market took a dive. Notice when he won the election it tanked even more and so on. Remember he is not for making money, only for taking it away.

AS usual we get Jebbie’s feminine side-
hysterical reaction to Obama’s approval rating followed by another Bush lie.
The Bushes should all leave for their secret hideout in South America before the trials start for war criminals in the Bush administration.

So many republican racists with all their BS cover stories. President Obama did decide to spend all that money- he had to because of what dumbya and cheney did to us- why are all the morons republicans? None of them seem to have a clue as to wqhat’s going on in our country or why- they just know they don’t want a black man in the White House so if he decided to give everyone $10,000 they’d all take it and then bitch about the deficit.

Flash - america hasw been on a downward spiral since Nixion.
As for Bill Ciliton he destroyed all WMD in Iraq with a plan that was called “Operation Desert Fox” Look it up or ask glen butt.
This was the reason W could not find them..plus we all had jobs and the budget had a surplus.
Revionist Fox news operatives….

Bob said:”Obama fans are on some kind of “hate Bush” kool-aid. OK I get it you did not like their policies…I may be a little premature…” What side of the fence are you playing here Bob? I’m not drinking any kool-aid, it was forced on me when Jeb and his cronies stole the election from Gore and the rest is history. Bush was a disaster from the word “GO”. I think you are extremely premature…anyone who thinks you can clean up any Bush mess in six months needs to get some oxygen and clear their mind. And yes, it (the economic senario) was so bad the only thing to do was to throw a ton of money at it. I know my portfolio has returned to pre-bush fiasco levels. My job is steady and secure, but I planned it that way. I got an education and I didn’t suck up and even apply in industries that were vunerable to our current senario.
As to health care…remember the HMO B.S. started with Nixon, because it was a profit driven method for the insurance companies. We are the richest country in the world, yet we have no where near the lowest infant mortality rate nor the longest lifespan. There is a stupendous separation of wealth in this country….the rich get richer while the poor and poverty numbers climb. The middle-class of this country is shrinking, you should be concerned. At least Obamahas a plan and is trying to equalize the availability of health care for everyone, not just the haves.
I don’t envy the President’s job. He came into office in the worst of conditions, but he has worked tirelessly to improve the situation. I give him kudos for that. Finally, I at least appreciate a President who can speak without butchering the English language. We have to be in a better position if jus tby the fact that our President doesn’t make words up to complete a sentence.
So, Bob, I suggest you possibly drink some kool-aid and ease off of the hooch. You might see things more clearly.

#59/#60 Dana - you need help…maybe Obama’s health plan has something for Psychotic-Alcoholics. These delusions you have can be dangerous, you should seek medical attention immediately. Please do not operate heavy machinery or firearms until further notice. Actually, don’t talk either, someone may punch you.
September 11th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Jeb - you hit the nail on the head. With a current governor who has breached his promises to the electorate (he actually lobbied the tax reform commission to NOT reduce taxes…he has not focused on stimulating the Florida economy, etc.), you are sorely missed by at least many of the rational voters here in Florida. You cared about kids and about the elderly. And our economy. And in not raising taxes. Maybe we were in a bad place when Obama was elected; we are heading to a far worse place. To all of you cynics - I am not a Bush nor am I a Bush employee. I am a conservative who is hoping or praying that either Marco Rubio or Kendrick Meek (both of whom stand on principle, even ones we may disagree with) beats the disgustingly, opportunistic individual who wanted to be Governor…then VP…and now a Senator.
September 14th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
Oh sure Jeb. For people who had half of a brain (and used it), good ole “Dumb-ya” was about as popular as a festering sore on a person’s rear-end.
September 15th, 2009 at 10:42 am
Having read the blogs, I still see a lot of mental illness in the Republican Party. My only hope is, this may improve.
September 22nd, 2009 at 8:29 pm
I’m surprised Jeb has time to make any comments I would think he would be too busy trying to get another job, like his old one with Lehman Bros, so he could sell some more garbage to the State’s pension fund.
October 6th, 2009 at 2:26 pm
Well there seems like one thing we can all agree on, our current political system is junk!!! The war happened and there’s only so much you can blame Bush for. Those 4,500 people signed up for a job and they knew what they were getting themselves into. The last time there was an attack like that on America, I believe we entered into WW2. Did Bush do some things wrong? Sure, what President hasn’t. Will Obama make a bunch of mistakes in the 4 years hes in office? Sure. It is what it is and will continue to be as long as we have a government for the government and not a government for the people. All those poor guys making $174K a year with full medical and retirement….yah they know how us average Americans feel…..
October 10th, 2009 at 11:31 am
JEB’S RIGHT.
October 10th, 2009 at 11:40 am
AND ANOTHER THING. I’M TIRED OF HEARING “I INHERITED”. MR. PRESIDENT YOU BEGGED FOR THE JOB WITH ALL OF ITS’ WARTS AND NOW YOU WHINE. YOU ALSO BRAG THAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED SOOOO MUCH IN YOUR 8 OR 9 MONTHS. IT WASN’T AMERICA UNTIL YOU CAME ON THE SCENE. EVEN THE NOBEL COMMITTEE BELIEVES YOU “WILL BE” A WUNDERKIND AND FOREPLAYED YOU WITH THE PEACE PRIZE. I WISH YOU WELL BUT GET A GRIP. OH, AND SEND THE TROOPS.
October 15th, 2009 at 11:47 am
Once again, Jeb Bush proves he is nothing more than a clueless rightwing party hack.
October 15th, 2009 at 5:54 pm
Hey Ted Says.WE WERE ATTACKED ON W. watch! He was presient 9MONTHS before 9/11 If he saw security problem HE SHOULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING!Not Clinton. And Jeb uare fool like rest of family!Obama is tryin 2save us from what your brother did!And thaks 4 nothing in Fla.
October 15th, 2009 at 5:58 pm
The nobel commitee gave prize to Obama for taking us from most hated to being loved again.PAY ATT.
October 22nd, 2009 at 10:24 am
Why is it so vogue for Republicans to trash their own party? If you feel, Jeb, that the Republican message is outdated and needs to change, then do it. Don’t sit there and whine about it as if you’re above it all.
October 25th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I see so many already discredited e-rumors and out right lies put out by the extremists to try to take the country back.
All these lies and all these rumors and all the opinions passed off as real journalistic news have not raised the Republicans approval rating one point.
BUT,Pres Obama has gained more then he has lost in persons who approve and just to let you fox watchers know,Republicans In Congress have a far lower approval rating the Dems and its been this way since just after the 04 election cycle. Just facts,I know its hard to swallow as you never hear anything negative about the right from Fox!

Leave Florida alone Jeb. You and your ilk have already ruined the state by letting developers go hog wild and not requiring them to pay impact fees, contaminating the environment, giving out no “child left behind” educational material contracts to your brother Neil, redrawing voting districts to favor rethuglicans, paving over every square inch of green land left while awarding building/transportation contracts to companies in yahoo-ville, Florida (e.g., look at the multimillion dollar courthouses built in the last decade in underpopulated areas like Clay County, Stuart, etc., while the rest of the state can stew in fifty year old buildings with constant plumbing/ a/c and mildew problems) You right-wingers have no ideas … you are just a bunch of angry thugs.
November 25th, 2009 at 7:16 pm
The stock market crashed after Obama was elected? Crazy lady, please…
That intrest only loan that i”m sure you idiots bought into, carried that market down 40% in less then 8 months.
If you hate something or someone so bad that you start to misrepresent reality you need a hobby..
November 28th, 2009 at 6:40 am
We have had enough of the dumb Bush family. Haven’t they done enough harm. I guess he wanted all his boys in office as Pres. Well guess what, the public don’t want you. So give it up and go away all you BUSH brothers.
December 26th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
Simple solution - mandate that everyone who votes must pay income tax - no pay, no vote. As long as you are paying for services, you should be heard. If you’re collecting, you should not have the right to determine how much others should pay.
December 30th, 2009 at 2:25 pm
Based upon the total Bush legacy, how can you believe anything they say,
January 11th, 2010 at 6:03 pm
His brother was MORE popular than Obama?
OMG, what are they passing around when the family gets together in Kennebunkport or Crawford? Wake up America!!! Change maybe coming slowly! But it took eight years to get into the mess that Jeb’s brother played a big role (not the complete role) in making. The change thing is still better that eight-years of Bush League. Don’t let this happen again. Please!!! No more BUSH league White Houses.
