Crist signs $66.5 billion budget
by Michael C. Bender | May 27th, 2009Gov. Charlie Crist today signed a $66.5 billion budget, vetoing just two items: a 2 percent pay cut to state workers and a $6 million raid of a trust fund that pays for procession concealed weapons permits.
Crist said just two vetoes shows he and the legislature are “of like mind.”
“We understand the hopes, the dreams the aspirations of our fellow Floridians,” Crist said.
Crist was joined this morning in Tallahassee by several lawmakers including Reps. Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda and Alan Williams, both Tallahassee Democrats who voted against the budget.
