Another Republican eyeing Atwater’s Senate seat
by Michael C. Bender | May 14th, 2009
Include Nick Loeb in the list of Republicans considering Senate President Jeff Atwater’s seat. Atwater might vacate the seat to campaign for state Chief Financial Officer now that Alex Sink is officially a candidate for governor.
Other GOPers looking at the coastal Palm Beach County district include Reps. Ellyn Bogdanoff of Fort Lauderdale and Carl Domino of Jupiter.
“I’m seriously considering it,” Loeb said. “I completely respect Carl and Ellyn, but I really believe Republicans can use a voice with new perspective and new thinking that’s not tied to ways of Mount Tallahassee. “
Loeb, of Delray Beach, has filed papers to run for the House seat held now by term-limited House Majority Leader Adam Hasner, R-Boca Raton. He’s slated for a GOP primary against former Boca councilman Bill Hager.
The Democratic candidate in the House race right now is attorney Lori Berman, a former aid to U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler.

I’m very excited to see him jumping in the race, he’s the refreshing candidate the position requires.

Can’t wait to see this campaign take off! He’s definitely the man for the job!

Nick Loeb spent something like $300,000 of his own money on a city council race in Delray Beach and lost! What makes him think he can win a Senate seat with no name ID and already a loser? Give me a break.

It is nice to see new blood getting involved in politics. It would be great to see Loeb in Tallahassee cleaning up.
We need folks to help fight for Florida families.

Can’t wait to see him get destroyed once again. Nick please have a reality check.

Wherever Loeb decides to lay his cards, he will be successful. In the end he will give us, the voters, a voice and outlook that we have needed for a long time.

Just when I though there were no good men in politics.
A man such as Nick, who has run his own business and believes in limited government, can count on my vote.

I’m really excited to see someone younger with new ideas and a different perspective to politics.

We need more people who support limited government and less taxes… Especially property taxes.. this is getting out of hand.
As a small business owner and former cop, I think Loeb is just the right candidate.

Nick,
Please put all of your friends back to work and off the blogs.

Nick Loeb is clearly the man we want to help Florida get back to the basics. He has both the experience and the understanding of how the real world works to know that we need government working for the people, and not itself and bureaucracy.

Nick,
I can’t believe how much support you have on this blog. I’m definately signing up with your team now !

Um, isn’t Loeb running for State House? So which office is he running (buying) for.
How about this Nick, decide on which office you want to run for and then run for that office only.

Oh please. The only thing Nick Loeb has backing him is big political names because of his family background and money. He is a trust fund baby and has never really had to work for anything, especially not any “business” that he has. He might be in business, but its not self created. I admire his wanting to help, and get involved, however, he needs some local experience before heading up to Tally. And for Atwaters seat now? No way…. Guliani support or not, its not going to happen. Not for the educated politically savvy voters anyway. But money does buy you one thing… your name out there… with all the fancy parties and fundraisers.

Between Loeb, Domino and Bogdanoff, it seems like Loeb is the Obama in the race - inexperienced. Perhaps Nick should prove he can win a smaller office first.

Domino needs to retire and Loeb has zero respect. Bogdanoff will run away with this race from my REC friends tell me.
