TV celeb for Lake Worth mayor?

by George Bennett | April 2nd, 2009

With Lake Worth Mayor Jeff Clemens announcing today that he’s running for state House and not seeking reelection in November, potential mayoral candidates include ubiquitous TV pest-control pitchman Greg Rice.

Rice says he’s been asked, but hasn’t made any decision about running.

what’s next: an albino hermaphrodite ?

small things for a small town, eh…?

  2. Barb Says:

Well, I cant beleive that Jeff Clemens is running for another political position. He does NOT return phone calls or want to be proactive in LW with his CURRENT constituents.

He’s just the kind of person we dont want in Government.DO NOT MOVE HIM UP THE LADDER!!!!

  3. non bigot Says:

    to Political Scientist

your comments about the potential Manager and Mr. Rice are really rude and ignorant.

YOU are the kind of person we dont need in LW! Grow up

  4. political scientist ! Says:

I KNEW I could BAIT an idiot like “non bigot” to REACT thusly!

It’s sooooo easy to push these morons “buttons” —and by the way, I wouldn’t be stupid enough to live in the most dangerous CRACK TOWN in the United States withthe highest murder rate per capita, surpassing even Washington, D.C. !!!! Heh heh….

Non-bigot is bouncing like a ping-pong ball!!!! Ha ha….(can’t recognize satire when you get hit right in the face with it, eh bigot????)

    Poor baby!!!

  5. Mr. Bojangles Says:

Hey Political Scientist, at least they let you post from the computers at the retard academy.

  6. Ed Says:

Political Scientist — As a former resident of Lake Worth and a current seven year resident of Washington, DC I take offense to your analysis of both cities. Both are wonderful, diverse places to live with a very high quality of life and I have never been a victim of crime in either place. Washington is not even in the top 20 cities for murder per capita so get your facts straight. Also, don’t comment about a place where you have never had the intelligence to live in.

  7. Anne Says:

Mr. Rice would be a great asset for Lake Worth!! Mind you, he has been spending money at the local diners, etc for years. Can the rest of the people in the city say the same?

    Good Luck Greg!!!!

  8. Dick Farrel Says:

    GREAT!!! HE’s Republican!
JUST WHAT THAT SLIMY CESSPOOL NEEDS
A C L E A N E R , who we know can clear out the cockroaches, rats and other vermin , especially the Socialist
    Nazis on the City Council.

I AM ALL FOR HIM! Can’t wait to interview him on my show, like I have a thousand times before…

He was for Mascaro for Sherrif…
maybe Freddie can return the favor and mobilize his squads to help us win
    LW back!!!

  9. political scientist ! Says:

I lived in DC for Years smartass know-it-all, and you take your life in your hands walking down most streets without a gun in your pocket—exactly like Lake worthless – the Crack Kapital of Florida!

And FYI DC has the 3rd highest murder rate per capita in the USA. (I love how all these “writer-wannabes” like Ed and “Mr. Bojangles” ???? make up their OWN STATISTICS they fabricate out of thin air!

Mr. Bojangles sounds like he might BE on of our illustrious Crack Dealers FROM Lake Worth! either that or he just got out od some DRUG REHAB there …????

  10. College Park Drop-Out Says:

Forget DC, Clemens is a Michigander, and no one can turn a beautiful place into a grafiti covered cess pool better than a Michigander. Don’t worry though, Michigan has already sent us another false-savior in Wes Blackman. He was the first to announce his canidacy, so we’ll soon have another opportunity to try solving Lake Worth’s problems with low standards and laziness.

  11. Lake Worth Businessman Says:

When I called him to explain the poor attitude the City of Lake Worth had when I was doing the paperwork for a new business his response was “Businesses are difficult to start everywhere Mr. ___”. I’m here to tell you I moved here from Tequesta and there they welcomed my move from NY with open arms and a ‘do what it takes to help you succeed’ attitude, not a ‘lets see how hard we can make it’ approach. If I hadn’t already secured the building I’d have walked. PLEASE RUN.
