Sink launches site to encourage budget whistle-blowers
by Michael C. Bender | March 9th, 2009State CFO Alex Sink launched a new web site today — GetLeanFlorida.com — that will let citizens anonymously suggest ways to make government more efficient and cost-effective.
“I am enlisting the help of everyday Floridians to crack down on government waste and abuse,” Sink said in a prepared statement. “I’m asking the people of Florida to help me, offer their good ideas, and tell us how we can make Florida get lean.”
The site will be advertised around the state and send tips to the Department of Financial Services, which will track responses and report results, according to the press release, which you can read here.

When regular people make less money, they cut things out they didn’t have before. It’s economically intelligent. You can’t afford it, you don’t get it. Government should do the same thing. I you don’t have enough revenue you don’t tax more to kill off the remaining population. Cut programs. Get back to necessities instead of the government taking care of every little thing. Get back to basics of making things work. Get rid of pork projects. There are too many. Cut back like the rest of us have to do.

I have one to report. Alex Sink abused Florida taxpayers by taking the State jet to Ft. Myers to see Obama when he was there. There was no State business. That little junket cost the taxpayers around $16,000.00.
