Don’t let them Imus you

by Michael C. Bender | April 16th, 2007

After apologizing last week for sending an e-mail that some in the state House found racist, Rep. Don Brown was deluged with more than 200 e-mails from around Florida and across the country. While some messages were critical, the vast majority supported the DeFuniak Springs Republican to continue speaking out on the topic and “don’t let them Imus you.” Here’s a sample of those e-mails:

“I was disappointed to see that you backed off. The truth must reign supreme. Blessings to you.”
-Sen. Dave Schultheis, Colorado Springs, Colo.

“The comments in this e-mail reflect an ignorance as to the founding of both this state and our country. It deeply saddens me that this mentality still exists in what we consider to be a forward looking government.”
-State Rep. Rene Garcia, R-Hialeah

“Don, I would urge you to send the members an apology for what you might, on reflection believe to be a clearly inappropriate comment. Thanks.”
-State Rep. Dan Gelber, D-Miami Beach

“There was nothing wrong nor untrue about the e-mail. US taxpayers are supporting illegals.”
-Marg Smith, Port St. Lucie

“You are a man of integrity and honesty from where I sit.”
-David Gregor, Greenville, SC

“I would like to thank you for standing up for our country.”
-Russell Landry, North Fort Myers

“You shouldn’t apologize for stating the truth.”
-William Murphy, Stuart.

“I think the illegal invaders must be checked. Keep up the good work.”
-William Bonacki, Naples.

Don Brown for Governor – 2010.

  3. Lilathe Says:

They are here illegally, hence the word illegal. Has our public school education been so damaged by the influx of illegal aliens that the leaders in our state government do not even know the definition of common words?
What part of tax dollar guzzling illegal aliens do our legislatures not understand?
