Harris: Blame the Media and Democrats

Katherine Harris says the media would be “quite disingenuous” to blame the Mark Foley case on Republicans.
In an interview with WESH Channel 2 in Orlando, Harris said, “if anything, the Republicans didn’t know about these issues and we’re going to be very anxious to find out who in the media and on the other side of the aisle (Democrats) knew about it and kept this from the public interest, because our children were at stake.”
Harris did not mention that House Speaker Dennis Hastert, Majority Leader John Boehner, Republican National Congressional Committee Chairman John Shimkus, and Rep. Rodney Alexander — all Republicans — knew about Foley’s contact with a former 16-year-old page nearly a year ago.

This is the one thing I love about republicans. They are the only ones who in the same sentence will say don’t blame us blame them. she will regret making this comment, because it will come back to bite her in the rear. Being a republican, she should have said that this is disgusting and unforgiveable. Instead she does the right wing attack on Democrats.

If you actually SAW this news clip (it’s available at YOUTUBE), wherein Harris’ eyes were twizzling about (too many triple lattes or some other stimulant?), and she was making her utterly bizarre allegations regarding the Foley situation being some contrived invention of the media and the Democrats, then you might find Katherine Harris as genuinely scary as I do. In my opinion, Harris is insane, and her handlers (who have been doing a good job in the last 4 weeks of containing her) lost track of her today. I really didn’t think that Harris could get much nuttier, but I was wrong. It turns out that, like every wacko aunt of an old southern family, she escaped from the attic and found her way right down into the front parlor…again.
Oh, I’m sure she won’t win in November (it seems that everyone knows that but krazy, phoney K-Cup Katie), so–mercifully–her insanity will not be on display much longer. But how sad for her husband when she loses…sheeeee’s back, and for good.

informed the Florida Governor’s office, Attorney General Crist, and the Florida
AG’s Child Protection Cybercrime Unit at least a year ago about Foley’s

It’s the same old Republican refrain: Do as I say, not as I do. They are happy about Foley; he has taken the heat off all of the other issues that races will be decided upon. Foley was “outed” by his own party as a sacrifice to hide other issues important to citizens. Foley is being used to polarize the electorate against one man over one issue, while other issues and other races now get little if any attention. The Republican Party is putting up candidates of more lack-luster quality, who are hoped to gain office just to keep control of congress in the Republican Party. The public is being molested as well.

Faux News is reporting Mark Foley is a Democratic. Of course, every person diagnosed with an STD, alcoholism, sexual addiction, other acting out behavior, AIDS, etc. are all Democrats.It’s been also been reported that criminal sanctioned are being persued. This I believe is unwarranted, unless Mr. Foley actually commmited an act of statutory rape.
Yestersay, Mr. Mark Foley divulged he was sexually abused by a pedophile clergyman as a teenager; but still takes full responsibility for his actions. Foley-gate is beginning to sound like something straight out of a Lifetime or Movie of the Week. While we all know that abuse begats abuse Foley’s Folly is getting to the point where he’s about to strain credulity.
Mark Foley did something on Monday that was very brave? He announced he’s checking into an alcohol rehab. I hope Mr. Foley’s admission he is an alcoholic is not to allay more publicity and to lessen the severity of legal sanctions.
What we hope for when an alcoholic enters treatment is that they have in a certain sense surrendered to their disease: admits they are powerless over alcohol—that their life has become unmanageable.
Foley admitted this yesterday when he wrote he was entering rehab for alcoholism and treatment for “other behavioral problems

Congress should be unified under one roof when it comes to any kind of misconduct. The Democrats did know about Foley … certainly if the pages knew, the Democrats knew, also. This is NOT an issue of Dem vs. Rep. This is an issue of we are all one country, supposedly with one purpose. Harris needs another civic lesson. Does she not understand that the majority party appoints the speaker of the body, who is then in charge of keeping everyone in line?
